Pulse is a live feed of what's happening across your KPIs, so you notice the things that matter without checking each one by hand. Every card is one event on one KPI in one period, ranked with the newest first.

The four event types

Pulse sorts each event into one of four types, shown by a coloured stripe on the card.

  • Critical (red): the KPI is well short of its target, or its RAG band is red.
  • Awesome (green): the KPI beat its target, or hit a new best.
  • Notable (amber): a meaningful move up or down versus the previous period.
  • Anomaly (blue): an unusual spike or dip compared with the KPI's own recent average, whether or not it relates to target.

Each card shows the actual value against target, a short plain-English reason, the period, and a small sparkline of recent history.

Focus the feed

The toolbar above the feed lets you narrow what you see. Changes apply straight away.

  1. Use the KPI selector to limit the feed to specific KPIs, or leave it on All KPIs.
  2. Use the date range picker to set the window Pulse looks at.
  3. Open the type filter (the sliders icon) to show or hide Critical, Awesome, Notable, and Anomaly events.
  4. Click a card to open that KPI in the Explore tab.

Tune what counts

Open the settings gear to set the thresholds for your account: how far short of target counts as Critical, how far over counts as Awesome, how big a move counts as Notable, and how sensitive the anomaly check is. Your per-KPI RAG bands still take priority where you've set them.

Seeing too many or too few cards? Nudge the settings gear rather than living with the noise. And use Refresh after a big data import to recompute the feed immediately.
